And so it begins...
5:30am - JFK. I am literally the only person (the only person, but there are plenty if birds. Inside the terminal. Yep. Birds in the terminal. Just flying around. It makes me uncomfortable) at the gate already for my 7 am flight to Vegas so I don't have anyone's fashion on which to comment. I know you're thinking, "Well Liz, what are acceptable travel clothes." I'm going to share what I'm wearing and why it works: a gray light sweater, black stretch cords, toms, a trench coat and a fake pashmina. Many of you have defended outfit choices by saying you want to be comfortable and, believe me, I am comfort's #1 BFF; however, you can still be comfortable without sacrificing fashion. The top is a perfect in between for hot or cold and since it's just one layer, doesn't necessitate the almost strip search that happens for any lady who dare to wear a tank under a shirt at security. (that's a rant for another time) I feel the best if my pant has a slight stretch. These are so soft they feel like pajamas. (no they are no pajama jeans) I don't really believe in taking your shoes off in public, but I LOVE bare feet, so Toms are the closest I can get to bare feet. The pashmina can double as a blanket and the trench can be folded into a pillow. I guarantee I'll be comfortable on this flight and I'll definitely be sleeping up a storm . Oh and bags, (also a rant for another time) since this is just a weekend trip, I have one for clothes and one toiletries/things to entertain me/a smaller purse/soy-tein noodles cause airport food can pretty much blow for anyone who's getting snatched (look it up - Mark Fisher Fitness) More to come friends!
